If you’ve been keeping up with our recent social media posts on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen a few tidbits of a certain Mini Cooper S which has been with us to have the full show car treatment.
The interior of the car has had an extensive overhaul with the dashboard, headlining, door cards & sun visors being re-trimmed in a swathe of black milano and leather with red detail stitching. To add to the accents, bluetooth controllable LEDs in the footwell and around the amp & subwoofer make sure the mood is set. The boot build has been custom made in-house and makes the Airlift Performance 3P system, Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer & Amp feel at home with the rear seats deleted.
The custom boot build is sporting a mixture of OEM-style carpet, black milano and the splash of candy-red from the hardlines, while the black 4 gallon tank proudly sits up top on our REDesign custom tank stay which is covered in black milano, leather and finished off with a lush red piping.
Twin black Viair 444C compressors give the Airlift Performance 3P System all the puff it needs to fill the Airlift Performance Front & Rear performance series struts allowing the driver to slam it to the ground, or cruise effortlessly over the naughtiest obstacle britain’s roads can throw at him. The Performance series struts also feature a 30-level adjustable damping meaning just by twisting the knob, the ride can be stiffened up in preparation to send it round a track, or soften it for a more comfortable daily ride.
A Blacked Airlift Custom Manifold plate (Available in a variety of acrylic, carbon and wood finishes) takes centre stage on the Airlift 3P manifold just adding another custom touch to an already one-of-a-kind show build.
Into the cockpit and we witness the scene of a fresh OMP steering wheel, carbon gear knob, door handles and handbrake lever while the Airlift Performance 3P Controller is at home proudly but discreetly in the cup holder ready to go at a moment’s notice.
Walking around the exterior of the car, it’s sat proudly on a set of gloss black OZ Racing Formula HLT 17” wheels which show off the brakes really well and match the stealthy aesthetic of gunmetal grey, black and carbon. We’ve supplied and fitted a new reflective vinyl number plate to that freshly smoothed and repainted front bumper with accompanying splitter – giving the front end a more subtle but still modified look.
Round the back end there’s the twin exit Akrapovic carbon exhaust tips which are played by the sound of the supercharged lump up front.
Somewhere in the middle, an adjustable exhaust valve which when closed, sounds naughty with the odd pop of overrun, but when fully open sounds truly angry and chucks out a load of pops and bangs whenever you’ve finished giving the accelerator a bit of slipper.
We’re sure that we’ll be seeing more from this Mini at a show or two this summer, so keep a look out on @rr53_oly Instagram for updates on his project and any appearances at shows.
We have no doubt that this mini will give passers-by some serious neck-ache as it drives by, but on closer inspection, it now has all mouth and the trousers to match.
